Our first Skipjacks 2013-14 tournament this summer is The Keene Youth Lacrosse Festival in Keene, NH, on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22 for Grades 4 through 8.

Last year we were able to get a Skipjacks room block at The Best Western, but that deal is off the table this year.  I also looked elsewhere to get a block of rooms but to no avail…  So, the bad news is it looks like we won’t be able to overtake one hotel this summer.  But, the good news is there are still plenty of rooms available in town and I would recommend looking at the following hotels for those that want to stay up there for Friday and/or Saturday night.  I would do this as soon as possible because the town will fill up soon, and once it does the closest rooms are in Brattleboro, VT.

Option 1:
Best Western, Keene, NH - http://bestwesternpluskeene.com/
Pool/patio great for chilling after games, and a great restaurant/bar (Waxy O'Connor's) in it as well.  ~$190/night

Option 2:
Holiday Inn Express – CLICK HERE
Right Across the street from The Best Western.  Nice joint from what I hear and close enough to walk over to Waxy's (the Irish joint in the Best Western).  ~$150/night

Option 3:
Marriot Downtown – CLICK HERE
Right is downtown Keene, which a pretty cool little town for those that haven’t been.  Smaller/nicer/quieter hotel… ~$180/night

I would start with those and if they fill up or don’t work for you, just try a hotels.com search and you will find something close by.

I should also mention that you don’t need to stay over for this tournament.  It is actually not quite as far as you may think…  Takes a little under 2.5 hours in the morning (no traffic) and a bit longer getting home in the afternoon.  We had a handful of Skipjacks who did that last year and it works out fine.
